Anyone out there ever wonder what it is like to go on one of those "crazy" diets where you see just how much you can lose in well under a month. Well, I did just that not too long ago. Let me first stay this: I am a fairly healthy (formerly pudgy) person with no really medical problems. So I'm not here claiming to give out medical advice--especially to those people who have some kind of serious medical condition. This is just my own account of thinking out side the box a little bit when planning my weight loss. I was doing some online research when I found this post about Brian Flatt's plan and it looked like it was worth checking out. It seemed like this was just the kind of thing I was looking for to do my "experiment." So I ordered it, downloaded the program, and started. The first week/phase was probably the most difficult. I felt a little bit "foggy" because it was my first time to experiment with limiting my carbohydrate intake. But I got used to it and by the end of the first week it was fine. One thing that kept me going was seeing the numbers go down on the scale after a few days. I knew that some of this weight was just water and glycogen, but it was still pretty cool to see such drastic changes. The second phase was a complete fast. It wasn't too bad after doing low carbs for a whole week. I was tempted to give up, but I wanted to see this experiment through. The final phase was a low calorie and low carbohydrate week. Again, it wasn't easy, but I knew I only had to do this for two weeks. I was really satisfied with the end result. I lost weight much quicker than I had on other diets and I had the satisfaction of knowing I had accomplished something many people have never done--lose weight (and quickly at that). I discovered that my body can do amazing things if I just apply the right plan and discipline myself. |
